The short version. Taxido has no accounts, no analytics, and no server of ours that your figures ever reach. Everything you type stays on your device. We never see your income, your expenses, or your tax figures, because the app never sends them anywhere. It does ask whether a newer version of itself exists, and that request is described below.
This policy covers the Taxido mobile app for iOS and Android, and the free calculator on the website. It is written to be read, not to be survived.
What we collect
Nothing you type, and nothing that identifies you. There is no sign-up, no email address, no phone number, and no way for you to identify yourself to us even if you wanted to.
One thing does leave the phone, and it is the reason both stores are told this app collects crash and diagnostic data: on launch the app asks whether a newer version of its code exists. What that request carries, and what it does not, is set out under Updates below. We would rather explain it than round it down to zero.
| Data type | Collected? | Where it lives |
|---|---|---|
| Income and expense entries | No | Your device only |
| Filing status, state, settings | No | Your device only |
| Name, email, phone | Never asked for | — |
| Bank or financial accounts | Never connected | — |
| Location | No | — |
| Contacts, photos, files | No | — |
| Device identifiers or advertising IDs | No | — |
| Usage analytics or crash reports | No | — |
Where your entries are stored
On your device, in the app's own private storage, using the operating system's standard local storage. On the web calculator, nothing is stored at all — the figures live only in the page you are looking at and vanish when you close the tab.
Because storage is local, two things follow. Your data is as private as your phone is. And if you delete the app, the data goes with it — there is no cloud copy for us to restore, because there was never a cloud copy.
Deleting your data
Delete individual entries inside the app, or uninstall it to remove everything at once. Since we hold nothing, there is no account to close and no deletion request to send us. If you would like written confirmation of that for your own records, ask and we will send it.
Third parties
The app bundles no advertising SDKs, no analytics SDKs, and no social login providers. Nothing you enter is ever transmitted: there is no account and no server of ours for it to reach.
The app does talk to three services. None of them receives your figures:
- Payment. When you subscribe, the transaction is handled by Apple, Google, or our web payment processor, under their own privacy policies. They tell us that a purchase happened. They do not give us your card details, and we do not ask for them.
-
Updates. On launch the app asks Expo's update service
whether a newer version of its code exists, and downloads it if so.
That request carries the platform, the version it is running, the
project's own identifier, and a randomly generated token that lets the
service tell one installation from another. That token is not your
name, your device's identifier, or anything you typed; it is a random
number generated on the phone. Expo's servers see the connection like
any web request. It carries none of your entries, and it is the only
network request the app makes by itself.
Because that request exists, this app is declared on both stores as collecting crash and diagnostic data, used only to make the app work. Saying otherwise would be simpler and would not be true. - The website. The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means Google's servers see the request. If that matters to you, the app itself uses only the fonts already on your device.
Children
Taxido is a tool for self-employed adults and is not directed at children. We hold nothing about anyone, of any age, because there is no account to hold it against and nothing you enter is ever sent to us.
Your rights under GDPR, CCPA and similar laws
These laws grant you rights over personal data a company holds about you: access, correction, deletion, portability, and the right to object to processing.
We hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing to access, correct, delete, port, or object to. This is not a technicality we are hiding behind — it is the whole design. Your data stays on your device precisely so that these questions never need answering.
Changes to this policy
If Taxido ever starts collecting anything, this page will say so plainly and in advance, and the app will ask before it begins. A change that quietly expanded what we collect would defeat the point of the product.
